2000-11-03 in Neideresach, Germany Left Reims early the next morning and headed off to Germany via Strasbourg. I never seemed like it would rain as hard as it ever did the day we left. We laughed at any rain that came our way. We averaged 160 km/hour along the motorway to Germany (I really love these bikes, they eat the motorway like nobodies business). We were in a rush to get to Touratech by lunchtime in order to get our bikes kitted out with 41 litre tanks and new panniers and GPS andeverything else with bells and whistles. We got to Niedereshach (home town of Touratech) via the number 33 B Road, which is awesome. It cuts straight through the Black Forest, breathtakingly beautiful. The folks at Touratech (Melanie, Herbert and Robert) were really helpful and arranged a hotel for us as the work continued through Saturday). We stayed at the only hotel in town, which was wonderful. Peter, the owner, and his family were really hospitable and fed us on Sptzle(thanks for the spell check , Melanie) which is basically German noodles with steak and fried onions. Does anything beat this after a days riding?? Did I mention the beer? I love German beer! Saturday meant more work on the bikes which only finished after 5pm, so we called it a day and stayed another night a Peters hotel (I cant remember the name but is was something like Eshallen Peter if you read this please supply contact details.)
