Hippy Immersion

In Pushkar and looking at the Ghats. Oh, give me the simple life

Pushkar is one of our favourite places so far. It has a spectacular understated setting, nestled between mountains and surrounding a holy lake. We managed to get to our hotel (read camping site) before Sundown, which left us time to wonder around town at dusk. The town, by virtue of its size and inhabitants, has a unique charm, which we felt from the moment we set our bags down. The majority of the foreigners here are Israelis fresh out of the army and enjoying the charm of this once hippie-town. In November there is a Camel Rally, which we missed but were told that there were about 150,000 camels there last month! We only spent one night there as the call of the ocean became louder and LOUDER! We got suited and booted and headed for Udaipur.
