The St Valentines Day Moussaka

I arrived in Adelaide on Valentines Day upon my trusty steed. I spent 4 days getting here from Melbourne. On the way out of town I met another overlander, Andy Miller, he is one of the unlucky ones who found themselves on motorbikes and on the wrong side of Pakistan in September last year. He had to fly his bike from Dubai to India to avoid the war zone. After a quick chat we realised we were both heading to Lorne on the Great Ocean Rd so we rode together and planned to meet my friend, Doug (Of Bali to Flores fame, see previous story).

I camped a night in Lorne then drove down to Warrnambool and splashed out on a backpacker accommodation before heading into South Australia. The coast of S.A. is wetland for about 150 kms on either side of the Murray River Delta, I took advantage of this and camped in a national park where my nearest neighbour must have been 5 kms away. Nestled in the shade beside a fresh water lake just 200 metres from the ocean was a very nice way to spend my time before arriving in Adelaide.

Upon arrival I met up with my friend, Manish, who I had met in Kodai Kanal in India. He offered me accommodation with his family to which I eagerly accepted. Manish then spent the weekend showing me around the immediate surrounds of Adelaide which includes Winery Tours, The Fleurieu Peninsula and his mate, Joshs farm about 80 kms from Adelaide.

Now well rested and all my laundry done I will heading north to Alice Springs along the Oodnadatta Track which cuts across the Outback going north and which promises to be a lot less boring than the sealed roads I have been travelling so far.

Does anybody get this joke? Moussaka??
